A Roundup of Vintage Gretsch Guitars at Lark Street Music

September 5th, 2012

By Buzzy Levine

Here’s what’s new and interesting at Lark Street Music in Teaneck, New Jersey.

The three Gretsch 6130 Roundups in this photo are from 1954. The orange Gretsch 6121, also from ’54, was actually a little pricier despite its simpler Bigsby tailpiece. The amp is a 1956 Electromatic with the side panel control input with a 15-inch speaker. The Gretsch 6120 atop the amp is from ’59.

I’ve never seen any of the old Roundups without any block inlay at the first fret as the one in the center exhibits. Would you or anyone know the background on this one?
