The Afghan Whigs Release First New Track In Five Years

As of noon today (Friday, May 18), the recently reunited Afghan Whigs are offering a new song, “See And Don’t See,” as a free download at their website, theafghanwhigs.com.

“See And Don’t See” was originally recorded in 1970 by Marie “Queenie” Lyons, and it represents the band’s first new studio recording in more than five years.

The Afghan Whigs will perform “See And Don’t See” when they perform on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on May 22. The performance will mark their first TV appearance in more than a decade.

The band also will perform at New York City’s Bowery Ballroom on May 23, and they’ve announced 28 dates around the world, including Lollapalooza, ATP’s I’ll Be Your Mirror (London and New Jersey) and Primavera Sound (Barcelona and Portugal).
