According to a post on the website of producer legendary Jack Douglas, Aersomith are hard at work on a new album that could see release as early as May of 2012 if the band’s overseas touring commitments permit. This will be the Aersomith’s first release since Honkin’ On Bobo a 2004’s blues covers set, and will mark the band’s first collection of new material in more than a decade.

Douglas, who also produced Aersomith’s watershed Get Your Wings, Toys in the Attic, and Rocks albums in the Seventies, describes the new tracks as “raw” and “nasty.”

Bassist Tom Hamilton commented on the news in a video post on the band’s website. “For those of you who don’t know who Jack is, he’s the guy who we worked with, producing our best albums of the ’70s,” he said. “There’s no one that knows more about the soul of this band and the creative part of this band [than] Jack.”
